Tis the Season! 8 CBD Holiday Recipes for You to Try

Do you want to bake with cannabis without getting baked?

With the holidays approaching, there will be plenty of opportunities to cook up some delicious treats. However, holiday baking can get boring. People make the same thing year after year.

How can you add a little more magic to the kitchen? Try adding a special new ingredient!

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is an extract from cannabis that doesn’t get you high. CBD can easily be added to all sorts of recipes as a way to ingest it.

You won’t get high, but you’ll still experience all the medicinal benefits of cannabis. For example, CBD is proven to relieve pain. It can also reduce anxiety and depression.

How do you cook with CBD?

It can be added to any dish that includes an oil. There’s a slight herbal taste to CBD, so it works best when cooked with sweeter dishes.

With the holidays coming up so too is the time for all of your baking. Put a twist on all your holiday foods and desserts with these CBD recipes.

1. Ease Your Noggin Nog

This is for those who love spiked eggnog but hate how they feel the next day. Lose the booze and toss in some CBD oil. You’ll still enjoy all the frothy goodness without the hangover.

Ingredients

  • 8 egg (separate the yolks from the whites)
  • 4 cups of whole milk
  • 2 cups of heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/3 of a cup of sugar
  • ½ a teaspoon of salt
  • 3-4 drops CBD oil per serving
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg
  • And a bit more for garnish

Directions

Take egg yolks, salt, and sugar and whisk them all together. Don’t stop until they’re smooth.

Pour in the milk and cream. Whisk in the vanilla and nutmeg until it’s all smooth again.

Meanwhile, whisk the egg whites until they are firm. This should take about 4 minutes. Give your arm a break and use a mixer if you have it.

Fold the egg whites into the mixture of cream. Don’t forget the best part! Stir in 3-4 drops of CBD Oil for each cup of eggnog.

Serve cold with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

2. Red Velvet CBD Cake

Red velvet cake is the perfect dessert to bring to a holiday party. Its vibrant color is a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. Some CBD oil takes this crowd-pleasing dessert to the next level.

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups of granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 2 large room temperature eggs
  • 10 drops of CBD oil
  • ¾ cup of canola oil
  • 1 ¼ cup of buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons dark red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar

Frosting

  • 16 ounces of soft cream cheese
  • 4 ounces  of slightly softened butter
  • 3 cups of powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Cover three 8 inch pans with parchment paper. Slowly pour all wet ingredients in with beaten eggs. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.

Then fold the wet ingredients into the dry.

Pour the mix over the three separate pans. Set a timer for 25 to 35 minutes. Once done, flip the baked cakes on to cooling racks.

While the cakes cool down, you can get started on the frosting.

Mix the butter and cream cheese together. Slowly add powdered sugar to avoid clumping. Add the vanilla and beat everything together until it’s smooth.

Once the cake is completely cooled, you can frost and decorate.

3. Santa’s Special Brownies

Brownies are the original hemp-based recipe. These won’t take you to another dimension. But they will transport you to holiday bliss.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 20 drops of CBD oil
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/3 cup of cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ cup of all-purpose flour.

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Mix up the sugar and oils. Add the eggs then vanilla. Stir everything until blended.

Put all dry ingredients into another bowl and mix them. Then fold the wet ingredients into the dry.

In a greased 9 x 9 pan, pour in the brownie batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Allow them to cool. For a festive flourish, add white frosting and Christmas candies to the top after baking.

4. Merry Mashed Potatoes

Sure, you can eat mashed potatoes all year long. But don’t they just taste better during the holidays? Maybe it’s all the fixings around them.

Either way, with the addition of CBD oil, these mashed potatoes will be extra merry this year.

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds of diced Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 20 drop of CBD oil
  • 2 tablespoons truffle butter
  • 2 cups of grated pecorino cheese
  • 1 cup of freshly chopped green onions
  • 1 1/2 cups of warm cream
  • 3 large finely minced garlic cloves
  • salt and pepper

Directions

Boil a large pot of seasoned water. Cook the diced potatoes for about 15 minutes. Drain the water and put the cooked potatoes back into the heated pot.

Add the rest of the ingredients into the pot. Then use an electric mixer to mash the potatoes and ingredients into the desired consistency. If necessary, throw in an extra splash of warm cream to thin the mixture.

5. Extra Green Mint Hot Chocolate

What’s better than a warm, chocolaty, minty beverage on a cold December night? A warm, chocolaty, minty beverage with CBD oil infused into it. This old mint classic is getting a bit more “green” this year.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of unflavored milk
  • 1.28oz of semi-sweet dark chocolate
  • ½ tsp of sugar
  • 3-4 drops CBD Oil
  • Peppermint essential oil, to taste
  • Whipped cream
  • A candy cane for garnish.

Directions

In a warm saucepan, add the chocolate. When the chocolate begins to melt, whisk in the cup of milk. Add the sugar and remaining ingredients.

Now just pour into a mug and add the CBD oil. Top it off with whipped cream and candy cane.

6. CBDberry Sauce

Making a huge holiday meal for your extended family coming over is stressful. When the meal is done, you can take a seat and finally relax. Enjoy some holiday turkey with a side of CBD infused cranberry sauce.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 oz bag of cranberries
  • Pinch of salt
  • orange zest
  • 20 drops CBD Oil

Directions

In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over a medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.

Stir in the cranberries, and let them simmer for about 5 minutes. Add the  CBD oil to the sauce. Let the cranberries cook for another 5 minutes.

When the cranberries start to burst, mix in the orange zest and salt. Remove from the heat and let the sauce cool completely. Transport the sauce to a sealable container and refrigerate.

7. Chocolate “Reindeer” Mousse

A chocolate mousse is the perfect dessert after a big holiday meal. Because it’s so light and airy, you won’t be too full after indulging. With this recipe’s added dose of CBD, you’ll definitely want to leave room for dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 pitted and scooped avocados
  • 6 pitted dates
  • 1/4 unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 T maple syrup
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • 3-4 T cold water
  • 15 drops CBD oil

Directions

In a food processor, combine the dates, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla, and cold water. Process the mixture, making sure to scrape down the sides if necessary.

When the mixture is smooth, add the 2 avocados and CBD oil. Process again, gradually adding the remaining 2 tablespoons of cold water.

Divide the mousse evenly between 4 dessert cups. Chill in the fridge before serving and enjoy them within 48 hours.

8. CBD Cookies and Cream Cookie

There are so many holiday parties to attend every season. Sometimes, you might not want to overindulge at every dessert table.

With these cookies, there’s no need to worry. They’re paleo, gluten-free, and vegan. Throw in some CBD oil, and you won’t feel any stress about going back for seconds.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 4 T cocoa powder
  • 1 T of your sweetener of choice
  • 1 t gluten-free baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1 T of flax seed
  • 3 T water
  • 1 T coconut oil
  • 1/2 t vanilla

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1 cup vegan cream cheese
  • 1/2 t sweetner
  • 7 drops CBD oil

Directions

First, preheat the oven to 300 degrees.

To make the chocolate cookie, start by combining the almond flour, cocoa, sweetener, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.

In another bowl, mix together the flax seed and water. Add this to the other mixture. Finally, add the coconut oil and mix everything together until evenly combined.

Spread out the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Flatten it until it’s even in thickness, about 1/2 inch thick. Bake for 15 minutes or until crisp.

Take them out of the oven and let them cool completely. Crumble up the cookie until it’s all in small pieces.

Mix all the cream cheese ingredients together with a hand mixer until smooth. Add 3/4 the cookie crumbles to the filling. Scoop out the mixture and roll them into 1 inch balls.

Roll the balls in the remaining cookie crumbs until evenly coated. Place them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Put them in the fridge, and chill until they are firm.
